Mangaluru: Kukke Subrahmanya Temple near Kadaba of Dakshina Kannada District known as one of the most revered pilgrimage centres, will now be known for its environmental concern with initiation of cleanliness campaign. The campaign will also see true fulfillment of dreams envisioned by Gandhiji and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said State BJP Chief and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Kateel here on Saturday October 17 launched Swachha Mandira Abhiyana, a bi-monthly cleanliness campaign by the temple on every Ekadashi. Kateel noted that this will create awareness among devotees on cleanliness, and thus a new change will be seen in the society. Further, deciding to hold the Abhiyana as part of service to God is really praiseworthy, he added.
Fisheries Minister S. Angara called upon everyone to ingrain in themselves the concept, clean village, clean environment for saving nature. He urged the public to cooperate with temple administration in this noble effort.
