Lancy D’Souza brutal attack; police arrest three

Mangaluru: Three persons were arrested in connection with the brutal attack on Lancy D’Souza at Chembugudde under Ullal police station limits. The incident took place on September 10.
The police commissioner S Murugan informing the media, said that the city crime branch (CCB) police have arrested prime accused Choni alias Keshava Poojary (25), a resident near Ullal railway station, Prasad alias Pachu (24), a resident of Mogaveerpatna, and Rakshith alias DK (22), a resident of Kapikad, Ullal.

Lancy D’Souza, was stabbed by the trio, when he was returning home after work from Ullal, on September 10. Lancy also had a criminal record and was out on bail when the incident took place.

As per the police, Yathish Poojary had been murdered in August 2014 in a bar at Thokkottu, allegedly by Uday alias Udayraj and Lancy. The police commissioner said that the assailants attacked Lancy to take revenge for Yathish’s murder.

Choni faces charges in five cases and also has been booked under Goonda Act previously, Prasad alias Pachu, faces three cases, while Rakshith is an accused in the murder attempt on one Mukesh at Kumpala in January this year.
