Mangaluru: “Mangaluru is a perfect place to own a home away from home,” said Sonu Sood Bollywood actor and Brand Ambassador of Panchmal Properties.
Addressing a press meet at Hotel Ocean Pearl during his maiden visit to the city on Sunday November 29, he said that he had heard about the contribution of Mangaluru to education and the greenery here and that he realized that everything he had heard was true when he witnessed it.
The actor, who has already purchased a posh flat in the Green Gates building by Panchmal Properties, said that actors usually own a house or a villa in places such as Lonavala near Mumbai so that they can take some time out from their busy schedule and relax.
However, they still end up meeting several people from the industry. In this view, owning a house in Mangaluru is just perfect as there are ample places to visit and also there is greenery all around which provides a conducive holiday atmosphere.
Speaking about his South Indian connection, Sonu said that he started his career with a Tamil movie and then moved onto Telugu. “I prefer doing South Indian movies and I am always ready for it,” he said. Sonu has also acted in a Kannada movie titled Vishnuvardhana.
Speaking about his upcoming Hollywood movie with Jackie Chan, he said, “Presently I am shooting for a movie called ‘Kungfu Yoga’ with Jackie Chan. We finished the Dubai leg shoot and are yet to shoot in another four countries. The shooting will be completed by April or May next year,” adding that Jackie Chan was very keen on promoting it highly in India.
When asked about his opinion on intolerance, the actor politely refused to answer saying that whatever a public figure says will sometimes be blown out of proportion though the individual did not intend to say so.
