Mangaluru: Additional Director General of Police Alok Kumar said on Thursday May 26 that no one will be allowed to jeopardise the law and order situation in the Malali mosque dispute.

He was speaking while addressing a press conference in Mangaluru for the first time after being sworn in as ADGP.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, “The Malali case is sub judice. The court has ordered that the status quo be maintained until June 3. As a result, steps to maintain peace and order in the district have been taken. Mangaluru is a sensitive area. Elections are also coming, and necessary steps will be made following a discussion with the officials,” he added.

“We need to keep an eye on social media platforms since the rate of cybercrime has increased. Mangaluru police officials have already taken a few preventive measures. We will speak to the officials about it and assess the situation,” he said.

City Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar, DCP Hariram Shankar and others were present.
