Man accused in 17 thefts finally lands in police net

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Rural Police in a joint operation with the Anti-Rowdy Squad arrested a 28-year-old person, who was wanted in 17 theft cases on Tuesday, October 16.

The accused has been identified as Mohammed Faizal alias Thodar Faizal alias Cabre Faizal, son of Hameed, a resident of Hidayathulla Nagar in Thodar village.

The accused has 6 pending cases in Mangaluru Rural Police Station, 2 in Venur Police Station and 9 in Karkala Police Station, all related to theft. Following a tip-off, a team of police headed by Mangaluru Rural Police Station Inspector Sidde Gowda Bhajanthri and Sub Inspector Venkatesh arrested the accused from Mangaluru Rural Police Station limits.

The raid was conducted under the direction of Mangaluru Commissioner of Police T R Suresh Kumar and the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Uma Prashanth and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramarao.

The court has remanded Faizal to judicial custody, police sources said.
