Belthangady: A man who launched a murderous attack on wife on Wednesday, ended life on Thursday by consuming pesticide at Kolpedabailu of Maladi village in Belthangady.
It is said that Shaji (44) and his wife Molly have had a strained relationship for long over personal issues, which many say was mainly an alleged illicit relationship of Molly with another man. However, regular fights took violent turn on Wednesday when Shaji attacked Molly brutally and even stabbed her with a tailoring scissor.
Molly had filed a complaint alleging her husband of attempting to murder her. While Molly was recuperating in a hospital in Mangaluru on Thursday morning Punjalkatte police registered a complaint. In a shocking development, Shaji ended life on Thursday morning and the same was revealed only when Shaji did not receive any phone calls made by Molly and other relatives. When Shaji’s uncle Johnson visited Shaji’s house, he was found dead. Johnson has expressed suspicion over Shaji’s death.
Police have been investigating the case from all the angles.
