Mangaluru: An investigation has reportedly refuted the claim made by a young construction worker named Kishore that three individuals tried to assault him with swords on Talapady’s K C Road.

According to police sources, Kishore claimed that three miscreants tried to use swords to assault him as they tried to attack him while he was on his way to work. He changed his statement and said he felt like he was being attacked.

Police recorded his statement and detained him.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar has addressed the situation after people of the Ullal and Konaje Police Station areas started to express concern about the possibility of another untoward incident.

“No such incident has occurred. He said that he felt attacked while being questioned by us. He has accepted the fact that he was not attacked. We will take action against him for spreading misleading information,” he said.
