Mangaluru: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra along with Director General of Police Praveen Sood visited the autorickshaw blast spot in the City on Wednesday November 23. MLA Bharat Shetty accompanied the Minister.

The Minister visited the hospital where the victim Purushottam and the suspect are undergoing treatment for burn injuries. Minister Araga Jnanendra gave compensation of Rs. 50000 to the victim’s family at Naguri.

Meanwhile, information has been revealed by Mohammed Sharique and his associates were receiving financial assistance from Gulf countries for carrying out acts of terrorism in various parts of the country including coastal parts.

Sharique and his accomplices were working under the direction of one, Arafat Ali, who has been in hiding in the Gulf. He offered them financial help and was also in close contact with Abdul Mateen Taha of IS-inspired terror outfit Al-Hind, police sources said.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is also involved in covert investigations into the contacts and accomplices of Sharique.

Minister Jnanendra said, ”I visited City with DGP in connection with bomb blast case. I also went to the hospital and spoke to the auto driver. Sharique hails from Theerthahalli and has travelled to Bengaluru, Kanyakumari and many other places. The police have collected several evidences in this regard. Forensic experts have also collected many records. His background, funding and who is behind his back are being investigated. All evidenced has been collected to ensure that he is punished. Around eight specialist doctors are treating both of them. I’ll have more information when he’s able to talk. The Government will bear the expenses of the auto driver’s treatment. I will talk to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai about the remaining financial assistance. Sharique was an expert in making bombs by assembling them locally using local materials. It will be investigated by the police from all angles. We will stop the fanatic forces who are trying to shed blood and take lives. The central investigating agencies are also with us. We will bind all the forces behind it. We have told you about the establishment of the NIA office in Mangaluru. Theerthahalli is a civilised taluk but there are also such people. These youth have links to a fanatical organisation between the coast and Kerala. He has gone all over Madurai, Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. They don’t talk on the phone, they connect in a different way. In the name of Hindu, he used to forge a Hindu ID card and roam around. This did not raise suspicion on him. High Court grants bail in graffiti case. The man who was working in a shop in Theerthahalli went missing. He used to frequently shift places outside the State. We are investigating him in depth and seriously.

It was difficult to trace Sharique, who was roaming around disguised in the name of a Hindu. Sharique, an accused in the graffiti case had been roaming around with an ID in the name of a Hindu, so he was not suspected and was frequently changing locations, making it difficult to trace him. The police kept an eye on Theerthahalli for a few days after Sharique came out on bail, he said.

DGP Praveen Sood’s said at City Commissioner’s office, “the source of their money is being investigated. We’re investigating it, we can’t say it now. Now we have to save the life of the accused, which is much needed. After their interrogation, more truth will come out. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the central investigating agencies are with us. Officially, the case will soon be handed over to the NIA. A letter has also been sent to the Central Government in this regard. We are investigating everywhere in Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Our police will also continue to investigate the matter. We are taking many people into custody, but they are not the accused at all. We are not arresting them, but are only questioning them. We conducted raids at eight places, including Bengaluru, and detained four people. We have not detained any of the accused. We are investigating by all means. It’s not a question of us catching one, we need someone behind it, he added.
