Mangaluru: After Kavoor Mahalingeshwara Temple in the City, now a banner was displayed at the famous religious shrine of Kadri Manjunatha Temple imposing trade restrictions on Muslim traders during the annual fair. Hindu organisations had put up banners stating restrictions for Muslim traders at the temple premises.

The VHP and Bajrang Dal had put up banners referring to the cooker bomb blast. A banner was been put up at the entrance of the Temple by the Kadri Vishwa Hindu Parishad Unit.

The Kadri Jaatre fair is being held from January 14 to January 25. Stalls are in place along the temple road.

Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple comes under the Department of Religious Endowment. Muslim traders have been doing business at this fair for many years. Similarly, this time too, Muslim traders have come to the fair for business. Bajrang Dal Activists also sent back the people of other religions.

However, the Police Department removed the banner in order to maintain peace and harmony.

The banner of the ban that made an appearance last year in the undivided Dakshina Kannada District continues this year as well. Such banners were seen in Puttur and Bappanadu Temples in Dakshina Kannada District, Kaup and Perdur Temples in Udupi District.
