Mangaluru: In a video that has gone viral on social media, a burqa-clad woman and a youth can be seen beating up a minor school boy at a bus stand in the presence of hundreds of students and the public. Netizens, who watched the video, were furious and did not know why the minor boy was being assaulted.

The public is of the view that moral policing will be difficult to control unless the Police Department registers a suo motu complaint and arrests the accused. The incident took place at Adyar Katte bus stand on the outskirts of City where a middle-aged burqa-clad woman and a youth can be seen assaulting student.

Locals allege that the youth was active in the local ganja gang. The background of the viral video is yet to be ascertained after the police investigation.

“No matter what mistake a boy has done, it is wrong to take law into hands. The scene of a minor boy being assaulted is heart-rending. State Congress Minority Cell Organising Secretary Haris Baikampady demanded that the police should take strict action in the case at the earliest.
