Mangaluru: Cattle theft, five arrested

Mangaluru: Five persons were arrested by Kankanady Police for stealing the cows in the City.

Kanekaria resident Ashwin was rearing cows and calves. On July 20 he had tied them in his shed. He heard cow’s mooing at night. However, when on July 21, when Ashwin and his family members checked the shed they came to know that their big brown cow was missing. They came to know that cattle seemed to be stolen by miscreants. Police have arrested acccused in this connection based on Ashwin’s complaint.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Ashfaq (22), a resident of Kottarigudde, Gurunagara, Azharuddin (31) of Addoor, Gurupura; Suhail (19) of Bajal Padpu, Jalligudde, Mohammed Afrid (25) of Pakkaladka and Shahid (19) of Kattapuni, Bajal. The Police have seized Maruti car, knife and ropes from the accused which has been used for theft
