Mangaluru: Writer K. V. Chandrakala Nandavar has been selected for this year’s Literary Award by Sahitya Sampada, Kadigoli Bantwala. In recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of literature, the award will be presented on November 6 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary Nirata Sahitya Sampada at Kannada Bhavan auditorium in BC Road in Bantwala of the District.
Started in 1996 by like-minded literary enthusiasts, Nirata Sahitya Sampada has been organising many literary events and presenting awards to many stalwarts for their achievements in the field of literature.
Chandrakala Nandavara born in 1950, after completing her post-graduation served as a teacher, lecturer and principal. She had a keen interest in literature and in the meantime has published several works, collections of poems, collections of articles and scholarly works. She has won several State-level awards, including the District Rajyotsava Award, for her contribution to the field of literature.
Another of her works, which has been associated with several organisations, is ready for release.
