Mangaluru: Director General and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood on Monday August 1 that the public must assist police officers in maintaining law and order in the district.
Speaking to mediapersons Sood said, “The current restrictions have been extended throughout the Dakshina Kannada District, and I request the public’s cooperation. The public must come forward with any information relating to the case to aid the police in resolving it. If not, they will also be considered as an accused in the case.”
He further said that in connection with the Masood murder case, eight accused have been arrested. “Investigations are currently taking place after the arrest of two more suspects in the Praveen murder case. The driver of the car involved in the murder of Fazil has been taken into custody. Soon, the three cases will be solved.
To avoid any untoward incidents, we have discussed with the SP and the Commissioner of the Mangaluru police. In light of the current situation, I have also asked the Chief Minister to strengthen the police force in the Dakshina Kannada District, he added.
