Mangaluru: Chakravarti Sulibele said, “not only Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah even if Chief Minister of the State speaks about Savarkar, I will react the same way.
Speaking at the Chintana Ganga, a programme that was held in the City on Wednesday August 24 to throw light on Savarkar’s life,Sulibele said, “he is seen as the main personality in all freedom struggles. Savarkar was a revolutionary amidst the directionless Congress. Savarkar is the life of everything, and a personality who laid foundation for a revolution in all of us. He is the person who inculcated in us respect for the history and heritage of this country. He laid foundation for Hinduism or Hindu way of life. So be it anyone, we will not tolerate anything against Savarkar.
Further, Sulibele said, “Siddaramaiah may have spoken about Savarkar today. However, we had given the same response when Mani Shankar Aiyar had spoken about Savarkar earlier. The society should develop a habit of teaching a lesson to those who disrespected the great men of this country. Personally, I have no enimity towards Siddaramaiah. But if our hero is abused, we can’t tolerate. Siddaramaiah was trolled by some when he was attacked throwing eggs on his car. However, we don’t ask him why he went to a Hindu area. I think Siddaramaiah will correct himself. Siddaramaiah seems to have understood that as I observed that he has remained calm for the last few days, he noted.
