Mangaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in Coastal areas till October 5.
According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon on Monday October 3 brought 70 mm of rain to Arkalgud in Hassan District, 40 mm to Srirangapatna in Mandya District, 30 mm to Tikkota in Vijayapura District, and 30 mm to Nelogi in Kalaburgi District.
According to IMD, the State’s highest temperature on Monday was 32.4 degrees Celsius in Shirali and Vijayapura, while the lowest temperature was 18 degrees Celsius in Bagalakote.
“In the next 24 hours thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of coastal Karnataka and Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal districts of north-interior Karnataka and Ballari, Chamarajanagara, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysuru, Shivamogga and Tumakuru districts of south-interior Karnataka,” it stated.
Bengaluru’s highest and minimum temperatures are expected to be 26 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively, although the IMD said that the city would have cloudy skies for the next 48 hours as well as the possibility of light showers.
