Mangaluru: The dead body which was found near Manjeshwar a week ago has been identified to be that of a missing man from Chembugudde. The deceased’s family claimed that the death was a murder.
The deceased has been identified as Zakir (36), a Chembugudde resident close to Thokottu. He was a fishmonger.
According to sources, Zakir went missing on October 26. His phone was found to be switched off. His information was made online since he was still untraceable ten days later.
About a week ago, a body with similar clothes and build to Zakir’s was found near Manjeshwar. The body was kept at the hospital’s mortuary for a few days before being taken to a nearby mosque to be buried.
The deceased’s brother, Ashraf Harekala, said that the body would be taken to Chembugudde for burial. He claimed that Ashraf’s bike was found close to Someshwara, his cell phone is still untraceable, and the body showed signs of injury marks. Therefore, the family suspects that he was murdered.
