Mangaluru: Fazil murder case, six arrested

Mangaluru: The Police have investigated the Fazil murder case in Surathkal in the City outskirts that created a sensation in the coast last week. The polic has arrested six accused and produced them in the court.

A man named Fazil was assaulted and killed on the night of July 28 in Surathkal. The police had intensified the investigation and detained more than 50 people and interrogated them.

Speaking to mediapersons City Police Commissioner Shashikumar on Tuesday August 2 said, “In connection with Fazil’s murder case, we detained the accused this morning and interrogated them. It has come to light that they have committed the act.”

The police conducted an inquiry this morning at Panambur ACP’s Office under the supervision of the Commissioner.

He said, “News about the love affair and Muslim sects were spread. But this murder was not due to his personal conflict. It was not a love affair or a murder due to an intra-sect dispute. After the murder some rowdy sheeters have gone around claiming to be that they are behind the act. They will be questioned in the coming days. Fazil had gone for shopping with a friend before the murder. He also went to the mobile shop at Surathkal and an adjacent shop.

We have arrested six main accused in the Fazil murder case. Srinivasa Katipalla (23), Abhishek (23), Dikshit Katipalla (21), Suhas (29), Mohan (23) and Girish (27) are the arrested.

The Ion car belonging to Ajith Crasta have been seized and its owner has been taken into custody. Although Ajith knew about the incident still he gave them a car. They had promised to give him Rs. 15000 for three days. He said that Ajith gave the car to them because he wanted money and asked them to hide the identification number of the car.
