Speaking to News Karnataka, M. Prasad Shetty, President, South Canara Coconut Farmers Producer Company Limited said that if the demand for coconut has to increase, new kinds of value-added products should be made. The oil is extracted from the coconut and used. For that purpose, our company has come forward to make coconut pickles. This will benefit coconut farmers.

Providing security to coconut growers in future and hence no middlemen will be allowed here. The aim is to buy coconuts directly from farmers at a good price and rely on coconut growers in the coastal areas and buy their produce at a fair price. With this, our goal is to provide employment to the locals. Along with this, we will also introduce coconut papad and coconut rusk,” he said on future ventures.
