Mangaluru: Hate is not the answer for hate. Love for hate and non-violence for violence is the answer, said Former Minister Ramanath Rai.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said that the inflammatory speeches in this District are constantly happening and this is leading to murders. The answer to murders are corpses, and going to jail. Among the dead were backward Hindus and Muslim boys. Those who went to jail were backward Hindus and Muslims. Inflammatory speeches is made by upper class of the society, he said.
Rai said, “The Government’s negligence is seen in politics. The weaker sections have been jailed in Masood’s murder. The real killer should be arrested and punished by the police. No caste, or religion should be coloured. This is because of the provocative speeches of the leaders. We also share the pain of the murder of Praveen and Masood. Whoever commits the murder should be punished properly. Being in a position is different. Those who give life are different. Those who killed Praveen should be arrested at the earliest and given proper punishment. This communal clash is no longer the same. It’s a target killing. I recollect a word said by Hindu leader Mahendra Kumar, “If there is good rain, there will be a good harvest.” I condemn this killing. The Government should give more compensation without any discrimination. I will urge the Government to give Rs. 25 lakh as in Shivamogga case. The incident in this District is making news at the national level. When Sangh Parivar leaders hit back, the weaker section dies. They will deliver provocative speech but weaker sections lose lives. They don’t even know who is getting the power and making money. Backward community people will be slained. They too have the power to think. The politics of hate leads to political murder. Don’t do politics of hypocrisy, he said.
He noted, “Such an event takes place when elections come. The game of organisations in this District and speculation should be stopped. Punish those who did it. If the murderer is found, the power behind him is caught, and such incident will stop all over. A case should be registered against them. The ones who have asked to commit it are roaming freely. Such an incident has come to an end in our District.”
