Mangaluru: A man has submitted an application to the Gram Panchayat seeking permission to sell buffalo meat. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has warned the Bajrang Dal that it will fight if it is given a licence.

Ashok Kulal, a resident of Kavooru in Mangaluru, has sought permission to sell buffalo meat in a room of a building owned by Anthony Peter near Loretto under Amtady Gram Panchayat limits in Bantwal Taluk.

Alleging that there was a big conspiracy behind it, the organisation said they should not be allowed to sell for any reason. Allowing sale of buffalo meat at the time of implementation of a law banning cow slaughter would hurt the sentiments of Hindus. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal’s Kinnibettu Unit has appealed to the Amtady Project Development Officer and the President not to grant permission for the same reason.
