Mangaluru: Police on Saturday March 11 arrested a man for allegedly duping a woman for money by threatening her posing as a policeman.
The accused has been identified as Shivaraj Devadiga of Ishwaranagara Sarakaari Gudde in Kavoor. He had threatened a woman and duped her of money. He was threatening the woman by saying, “We have received complaints that you are running a massage parlour and that you are keeping too much money and gold. If the case has to be closed, money has to be paid. Otherwise we will attack your parlour and house.
He also threatened the woman and took Rs 38,000 from her.
A case has been registered at Kavoor Police Station in connection with the incident.
The man has now been arrested by the police. It is learnt that he had earlier served in the Home Guards and was wearing the same uniform and threatening the woman and believing her to be a policeman.
