Mangaluru: Four of the six persons who allegedly assaulted a man with lethal weapons after barging into his house here allegedly refused to marry off his daughter, informed the police.
The arrested have been identified as Taufeeq (20) son of Ismail, Mohammad Nizamuddin (25) son of Shahul Hameed, Abdul Salim (23) son of Mohammad, and Mohammad Shafiq (22), son of Hussainar.
Usman Beary’s wife Tahira filed a complaint regarding the assault at the Uppinangady Police Station.
As per the complaint, the assault allegedly happened on November 25 at around 11.15 pm in Ayodhya Nagar Biliyur village.
Usman, one among the accused, allegedly turned down Nizamuddin’s request for the victim’s daughter’s hand in marriage. Nizamuddin and others entered Usman’s house with weapons and assaulted him.
The complaint further states that Usman, who was injured in the assault, has been admitted to a hospital in the City.
Police have produced the four accused persons they have arrested in court. A search is on for the other accused who are absconding.
