Mangaluru: The City Police have detained one person for questioning in connection with the Fazil murder case.
According to sources, the car’s owner has been detained for allegedly aiding the murderers to execute the murder. Police sources said that he is presently being questioned to ascertain his role.
The investigation into the murder is ongoing in the meantime. A total of 16 suspects had been rounded up for questioning in relation to the murder of Muhammad Fazil, informed Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar on July 30.
He said that 21 persons of interest had been detained for questioning during the early phases of the investigation and added that only those responsible for the crime will be arrested.
Fazil was murdered when he was shopping at Surathkal on the evening of Thursday July 28.
