Mangaluru: Three girl students from a local private pre-university institution who went missing from their hostel a few days ago were found in Chennai.
Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday September 24 City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar said that the three girls, two of whom are from Bengaluru and the third from Chitradurga, were found in Chennai by the officials investigating the missing case.
He claimed that because of their disappointment with their exam results, the girls had left the city and travelled to Chennai. They decided to leave the hostel and visit the home of a relative of one of them since they were embarrassed to face their parents.
The girls had never travelled such a distance by themselves and didn’t have any mobile phones. They paid their bills with the money their parents gave them. They were found walking aimlessly in Chennai.
The Commissioner asked parents and teachers to watch out for children who may be disturbed by the pressure they are under. “Institutions should allow parents to see their children at least once every month,” he added.
He said that the girls were being brought to the City.
