Mangaluru: The body of a missing man from Bengaluru was recovered from a well in Thokkottu near a lodge he has stayed in.

The deceased has been identified as Mahantesh A. S. (36) a native of Arasikere who currently resides in Bengaluru. He arrived in Thokottu in November and stayed at the lodge. He left and didn’t come back. Police were informed about the missing man on December 1. Mahantesh’s sister filed a missing complaint with Ullal police on December 2.

The body was found after it was discovered that a well behind Abdul Samad’s home, next to the lodge, had an unpleasant odour. The fire brigade lifted the body and later it was identified to be that of Mahantesh.

An investigation has been launched by Ullal police.
