Mangaluru: MLA U. T. Khader on Sunday June 26 visited the sea ground area affected by sea erosion and inspected the homes threatened due to erosion.
Speaking to mediapersons during his visit, he said that last time about 50 per cent of works were done to curb sea erosion at Hilary Nagar, and only 50 per cent work is still pending, he said.
Khader said that the people here have brought to my attention the situation they are facing from last two years. I have made the situation known to the Deputy Commissioner and the people’s representative. I have also mentioned about Bettampady and this area at the KIDBI meeting. But there has been no positive review and work in this regard. Even if the government works here for two days it is enough. As many as 20 houses and the road will be saved, he added.
