Mangaluru: All preparations are being made for the implementation of the National Education Policy in primary schools, and based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), a Curriculum Framework (KCF) has also been created in the State. The curriculum and textbooks will be ready by December, said Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.

He was speaking on Saturday November 19 after inaugurating the two-day “Kannada School Children’s Festival” organised by the Keshava Smruti Samvardhana Samiti at the City’s Sangha Niketana. “In NEP, it has been finalised that education will be provided in the mother tongue,” he said and added that learning will be encouraged based on the culture and ideas of the respective region.

He said that students from Mangaluru will be given priority for studying regional Kannada as well as sea and environment related issues in NEP.
