Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District and the State have been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past few days. But the people are orphaned because the State Government has not done any pro-people work, said MLA U. T. Khader.

Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday August 6 Khader said, “People in Sullia, Sampaje are facing problems due to rains. The Minister In-Charge Minister V. Sunil Kumar is yet to hold a meeting of officials. The BJP government has failed to run a government that gives courage to the people. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Revenue Minister R. Ashoka visited the district but nothing worked.”

He further said that the State Government has completely lost the confidence of the people. “They don’t have the courage to ask for National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) from the Centre. When Union Home Minister Amit Shah came to Bengaluru, the leaders discussed the party instead of saving the people. There was no appeal made to resolve the problems of the people,” said Khader.

“The State Government do not care about the people and it is working only to save the party. The MPs here are silent instead of asking for funds. If they are embarrassed, let them take all party leaders along. The BJP government has made people live in fear today,” he added.
