Mangaluru: Plaint filed after Hindu activist gets death threat

Mangaluru: Hindu activists gathered near the Bellare Police Station on the night of Saturday September 10 demanding for the immediate arrest and harsh punishment of a murder suspect after it was claimed that the brother of the suspect threatened to kill a Hindu activist.

According to sources, Prashant Rai, a Hindu activist from Bellare and the Manager of a firm lodged a complaint against Safreed with Bellare police about the alleged abuse and death threat.

As per the complaint, Safreed verbally abused and threatened to kill the complainant over the phone.

Safreed is said to be an SDPI activist and is the brother of Shafiq of Bellare, who is an accused in the Praveen Nettaru murder case.
