Mangaluru: Poll boycott decision made urging road works

Mangaluru: Alleging negligence on the part of the people’s representatives towards the development of Kodialabail-Duggaladka road under Town Panchayat limits, the road beneficiaries have decided to boycott the elections till the road is developed holistically.

A meeting of citizens was held in Kamiladka on Sunday February 26 to discuss the poll boycott and protest by begging in front of the Town Panchayat demanding road repairs.

Speaking on the occasion Businessman Sureshchandra Kamila said “our demand, which is several years old has not been fulfilled. We don’t want anyone’s assurance, we have to see the completed road work,” he said.

Balakrishna Nair Neerabidri, Dikshit Panattila Manoj Panattila, Forrmer Nagar Panchayat member Ibrahim Neerabidri, Shivananda Kamiladka, LAMPS President Seethananda Berpadka, Advocate Shyam Panattila, Former Gram Panchayat member Mohan Berbadka, Dr. B.S. Ganesh Sharma, Kusha Neerabidri and others spoke on the occasion.

Finally, it was decided to boycott the polls, protest by begging in front of the Town Panchayat and block roads.
