Mangaluru: “The Prajadhvani Yatra, which started in Belagavi, will arrive in Mangaluru on January 22 and a grand programme will be held in the presence of Senior Congress Leaders at the Karavali Utsava Grounds in the City,” said Congress District President Harish Kumar.
Speaking at a press conference he said, “The BJP Government in the State has completely failed. Though the economic condition of the people has deteriorated due to Covid, the Government is indulging in rampant corruption. To oppose this, the Congress has organised a Prajadhvani Yatra across the State. None of the Government schemes are being released. It has stopped completely. From students to the elderly, they are facing hardships. The State Government is hiding this and fooling peiple. The yatra is being conducted to condemn this,” he said.
Further he said, “The State Government has brought farmers to the streets. No schemes are being implemented to supplement the farmers. The Congress Party is organising a ‘Prajadhvani Yatra’ as people’s voice to condemn the Government’s failure as the people are fed up with GST and taxes.”
“At the same time, Ashok Rai will officially join the Congress Party,” he added.
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, D. K. Shivakumar, M. B. Patil, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee In-Charge Salim Mohammed, Madhu Bangarappa, Dhruva Narayan, and H. K. Patil among others will be present on the occassion.
MLC Manjunath Bhandary, Congress District Campaign Committee President Bharath Mundodi, Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, MCC Member Naveen D’Souza and others were present at the press meet.
