Mangaluru: Most parts of Coastal Districts received moderate rainfall on Sunday August 21. According to sources, parts of the Belthangady, Puttur, Sullia, and Mangaluru taluks received moderate rainfall.
There was intermittent rainfall in Udupi on Sunday. The Karkala and Kundapur taluks also received good rain.
The rain will intensify in the coastal areas during the next three days, informed the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). A yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada on August 23, 24 and 25. It is predicted that rainfall will be moderate to good during this time.
According to IMD, the seas are predicted to be rough since the winds are likely to increase their speed. Strong winds of up to 40 to 50 kmph are expected. The meteorological department has warned fishermen along the coasts of Kerala and Karnataka to be careful.
