Mangaluru: District In-Charge Minister Sunil Kumar inaugurated Rajaji Park and a pedestrian underpass near the Town Hall in the City on Sunday October 2.
The underpass was constructed near Town Hall to make it easier for pedestrians to walk to the other side of the busy road as a number of vehicles use this road.
The underpass built as part of the Smart City project is 11.5 metres wide and 365 metres long. It will be useful for those who need to travel to the Central Railway Station, mini Vidhana Soudha, Tahsildar’s office, Lady Goschen, Market, etc.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Jayanand Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, former Mayor Premananda Shetty, Divakar Pandeshwar, standing committee President Shakeela Kava, Kishore Kottari, Nayana Kotian, Hemalatha Raghu Salian, Additional Deputy Commissioner Krishna Murthy, MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar, Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar, DCP law and order Anshu Kumar, ACP P. A. Hegde, Managing Director Smart City Prashanth Kumar Mishra and others were present.
