Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that a record amount of funds have been brought in from the State and Central Governments for the overall development of the City and continuous development works are going on in the city.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for various development works at a cost of Rs 1.85 Crore at Nekkaremar in Kankanady Ward, he said that the development works in Mangaluru City South Constituency have been going on uninterruptedly for the last five years. He said that many schemes of the State Government and Central Government are being successfully implemented in Mangaluru City.
“A sum of Rs 1.85 Crore has been released for the development of canals, roads and drains in Nekkaremar area,” he said and added that to avoid artificial floods during the rainy season in the City, a comprehensive plan has been chalked out and the work of developing the canals by releasing funds from the Minor Irrigation Department is going on in full swing.
