Mangaluru: Remove controversial banners from District, says DC

Mangaluru: The gram panchayats and city local body representatives have been instructed by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration to remove any contentious banners from the district with the help of the police.

Deputy Commissioner Rajendra K. V, ordered that the police department take appropriate action against anyone displaying controversial, unauthorised hoardings and banners that incite hatred.

Anyone who wishes to place banners on designated places must obtain permission from the relevant officials. He added that details about the banner’s printer should also be provided. Additionally, the DC said that loudspeakers should be utilised in accordance with the High Court and Supreme Court’s orders.
