Mangaluru: A woman died when a rickshaw driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into a river near Mundaje Kapu Chadavu.
The deceased has been identified as Sefiya (57), the daughter of Dr. Alikunhi. She is a resident of Chibidre Kattarigudde near Kakkinje.

According to sources, Mariamma (23), a resident of Kukkavu in Kadirudyavara village, Muhammad Ashraf (35), a resident of Bhadravati, and the driver Abubakar Siddique (21) were the other rickshaw passengers injured in the accident.

When the incident occurred, they were travelling home after attending the Uroos event in Kajur.
There was no fencing, so the rickshaw went off the road and fell into the Mrityunjaya river. The occupants, except Sefiya, were thrown out of the rickshaw before it plunged into the river. Sefiya was dragged with the rickshaw and drowned.
