Mangaluru: Sabarimala Ayyappa Darshana Begins

Mangaluru: The number of devotees visiting Sabarimala Ayyappa Swamy Sannidhanam after the Coronavirus period is equal to the pre-Corona period. The rituals at Sabarimala began on Tuesday November 15 and the doors of the temple was opened on Wednesday November 16.

Devotees across the coast offer garlands on the Sankramana of the month of Karthika, followed by Mandala puja on December 27, which is followed by Makara Sankranti darshan in another varti.

On this occasion, the overall consumption of vegetables and fruits is increases as all the devotees and other members of the household accept vegetarian food. 12 spot booking centres are being set up from Chengannur to Nilakkal. Vehicles with less than 15 seats will be allowed to go to Pamba, while vehicles with seating capacity above that will be allowed entry only up to Nilakkal. Devotees have to get down there and go in government buses. More than 500 camps in Udupi District will be opened and this time in Dakshina Kannada District around camps will be opened. The number of camps may increase in December. More than 4000 Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samaja Sangathana has come into existence in 22 Districts of the State. As this year it is 100 years for the existence of song Harivarasanam two district level programmes will be held on December 11.
