Mangaluru: In a scooty and truck collision on National Highway 66 near Kallapu in City on Sunday November 6, two died and two children were injured.
The deceased has been indentified as Gangadhar (45), a resident of Tandolige, Jappinamogaru, and Nethravathi (48), a resident of Pajeer near Konaje.
Nethravathi’s daughter Moksha and nephew Jnanesh were injured seriously. Both the children have been reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte.
The two deceased and the two children were traveling on the scooter from Pumpwell to Thokkottu in City. When they reached Kallapu, a truck came on to the highway from a private market. Being driven rashly and at high speed, the truck collided with the two-wheeler.
All four people on the scooter were thrown on the road as a result of the impact. Nethravathi and Gangadhar were both fatally injured due to the impact of the fall and died, police have said.
The Mangaluru Traffic Police registered a case against lorry driver Hanif.
