Mangaluru: SDPI activists booked for abusing police

Mangaluru: A case has been registered against the activists of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), who have hurled abuses on police.

Kankanady City Police Station has been registered under IPC sections 143, 353, 504, and 149. A case was registered on the basis of a complaint by Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandrasekhar, who was on check post duty.

The SDPI convention was held in Kannur in the outskirts of the City on Friday May 27. The rider, who came to the convention on a bike and car verbally abused police with his co-rider. The miscreants almost rode a bike over Police Constable Sanganna Gowda who was on duty. Thus they are alleged of obstructing and abusing policeman who was on duty. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
