Mangaluru: Siddaramaiah’s statement are an attempt to appear on the front cover of the newspapers, said BJP State Unit President and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday August 23, he said that Siddaramaiah is a socialist thinker, and an atheist Congressman. He is a person who does not believe in God and arrogant leader who questions sacrifice, struggle and patriotic leader like Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. What else can be expected of a person who does trust the nation. By questioning what if I eat meat and go to the temple?, he is hurting sentiments and beliefs of many. This is a debate to veer from the statement he has made on Savarkar. Let him tell us what is his clear stand on Savarkar. Why did he get jailed twice and got Kaalapaani punishment if he was a coward? If he apologised, was there a need for the British to keep him in the Andaman jail twice? Which Congress leader has got Kaalapaani punishment and has been jailed in Andaman?, he questioned.
Kateel asked, “Why Indira Gandhi issued his postage stamp if Savarkar was not a freedom fighter. Is Siddaramaiah rejecting the words of Congress supreme leader Indira Gandhi?, he questioned and added that Siddaramaiah is struggling as he has lost power. “There is a growing leadership tussle within the Congress. Who will be the next chief minister? Will it be Siddaramaiah, D. K. Shivakumar, Parameshwara, or Mallikarjuna Kharge? The urge to show that I am beyond them is making Siddaramaiah resort to these gimmicks,” he said.
