Mangaluru: Specially-abled murdered at rented house

Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, a young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a rented house in Kolya Saraswat Colony under Ullal Police Station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Sarita Verma (23), a native of Chhattisgarh. Sarita was living in a rented house with her two brothers and sister-in-law. The incident came to light on the evening of Monday January 30. While the two brothers had gone to work at the time of the incident, the sister-in-law had gone to the hospital. The owners of the rented house are old and unwell. While the lower floor was occupied by the owners, the upper floor had a rented family stayinv.

Sarita Verma was a specially-abled and was in a state of inability to hear and talk.

Suspicion in death

Sarita’s mouth is tied tightly with a cloth. Ullal Police suspect that the girl was hanged after committing the murder. A young man brings lunch and dinner to the old owners of the house below. Police investigations have revealed that only he entered the compound on the day when her body was found. Police has registered a UDR and have summoned the suspects to the Police Station. Police also has taken up the investigation.
