Mangaluru: Student assaulted for speaking to girl, plaint filed

Mangaluru: A gang allegedly assaulted a student for talking to a fellow student of another religion on a bus.

The victim, Mohammed Shakir, is a resident of Veerakamba village and a student at a private college in Balmatta.

The Vitla police filed a case against Chandrasekhar, Prajwal, Rohit, and three other Kelinja residents in response to Shakir’s complaint.

Shakir stated in his complaint that after finishing college, he boarded a KSRTC bus to go home. He gave chocolate to the student seated next to him on the bus.

When the bus arrived in Kelinja village, the accused allegedly barged in and assaulted him.
