Mangaluru: A case has been registered against a student of NIT – K Surathkal for allegedly duping a student of same institute by promising him a huge profit.

Yash Vardhan Jain alias YVJ, a 4th-year student, had received money in a WhatsApp group since March 2022 promising 10 per cent more profit to NIT – K students in a week.

In October, he had floated a Telegram group named ‘YVJ Investment Enterprises’ to dupe people across the country. That group currently has 981 members. Most of them are NIT – K students and some other college students.
