Mangaluru: The bike rally organised by DYFI, SFI was stopped by the police and denied permission. The rally was organised from Urwa Store junction to Surathkal Tollgate on Monday November 14 in support of the ongoing indefinite day and night dharna undertaken for the removal of illegal tollgate in Surathkal.

A scuffle broke out between DYFI activists and the police. The activists, who were on their way to Surathkal through a padayatra, were also stopped and arrested by the Urwa police after they were denied permission by the police.

More than 25 activists, including DYFI District President B. K. Imtiyaz, Dstrict Secretary Santosh Bajal, and Naveen Konnadi, were arrested by the Urwa police and more than 50 bikes were seized. The DYFI activists were later released on station bail.
