Mangaluru: MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the recent violence in Mangaluru was pre-planned and a proper investigation is needed to find out who are the culprits behind the incident.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, December 21, Nalin said that the Union Government has already clarified that the Muslims living in our country will not face any problems due to the implementation of the Citizens (Amendment) Act (CAA), 2019 and National Register of Citizens (NRC). “However, Congress leaders are instigating violence by supporting the protests. Before holding a protest, people should study the Act. If they study the Act, they will see that no community living in the country will face any problems,” he said.
Pointing to the “fire” statement made by MLA U T Khader, Nalin said that Khader fuelled violence, which led to the death of two protesters. Meanwhile, Nalin clarified that his “fire” statement and Khader’s fire statement are not same. “There was no prohibitory order when I spoke and no violence took place after my statement. Even though a case was registered against me, I was acquitted in the court,” he added.
