Mangaluru: A woman who snatched a purse from the bag of a female passenger in a bus has been found and is in the custody of the Kankanady police.
A woman who stole the purse of the Puttur Taluk Panchayat Planning Officer, who was traveling in a private bus coming from Mangaluru to Puttur and a complaint was lodged with the Puttur Town Police Station regarding the theft.
Meanwhile, the visuals of an old woman stealing a purse in a bus was caught on the CC camera of the bus and it went viral on social media.
This morning, seeing the same lady in the bus that was leaving for Uppinangady from Mangaluru, the conductor called the bus driver of the bus in which the theft occurred and confirmed the same.
After informing the Bantwala police, the police were all ready at BC Road. In the meantime, the old woman who came to know about the matter tried to get down from the bus at Padil but was stopped by the conductor and the driver. Later, the Rural pzolice reached the spot and took the old woman into custody as per the instructions of the Puttur police and interrogated her. More details are to be known.
