Market Complex in Surathkal will be reality without fail: MLA Bawa

Mangaluru: Taking a dig at former minister Krishna J Palimar who had recently claimed that market complex of about Rs 120 cr for Surathkal will never be a reality, MLA Moideen Bawa said that the state government has approved Rs 50 crore for the market complex at Surathkal and it will be a reality without any obstacle.

Addressing the media persons here on Friday, October 27, Bawa said that the state government has approved Rs 50 crore for market complex in Surathkal, the Mangaluru City Corporation will provide Rs 11 crore grant and the funds thus received will be enough to complete phase I of the project. “We shall ask for more funds for the second phase and complete the entire project in three years, ” he assured adding that his constituency is about to witness developmental projects worth Rs 300 cr and CM Siddaramaiah will lay foundation for all these projects very soon.

Bawa further said Mangaluru North Constutuency will get two outlets of Indira Canteen at Surathkal and Kavoor and he has plan to set up an outlet in Vamanjoor.

MLA also said that RTO office in Surathkal will begin functioning in next 10 days.

Corporator Shashidhar Hegde, Prathibha Kulai among others were present during the press meet.
