Mangaluru: A Mega Lok Adalat will be held on Saturday, March 27 in all the courts in Dakshina Kannada district, by District Legal Services Authority in association with the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, the Bengaluru.
The public are requested to approach legal services or concerned Taluka legal services committee and get resolved their pending litigations and pre-litigation cases in Mega Lok Adalat.
The disputes relating to all types of civil litigations, criminal compundable cases, cheque bounce cases, claim petitions under MV Act, land acquisition cases, etc can be referred to and settled in Lok Adalat.
Mangaluru has the highest number of check invalid cases, excluding Bengaluru, with over 15,000 cases under investigation. In addition, auto accident cases, civil lawsuits and other cases can be settled in a compromise.
So far 7000 cases have come to the Lok Adalat in the district. At least 900 of these cases are expected to be settled, said Shilpa AG, a member of the Dakshina Kannada District Legal Services Authority, which is managed by Lok Adalat.
