Mangaluru: A lineman who was toiling to restore the high-tension wire suffered severe head injuries after a branch from a tree fell over him, near St Aloysius Primary School premises at Karangalpady on Friday, October 7.
The grievously injured lineman was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
It is said that a tree was being cut by some individuals without taking proper care and precaution and as expected a large branch fell over the high tension wire, pulling down the electric pole.
When the lineman came to the spot to restore the lines, the mishap rendered him injured. A speeding bus, which was plying on the route ran over the wires further tangling and breaking the wires, the eyewitnesses said.
