Mangaluru: As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, the Mangaluru Horse Riding Academy (MHRA) will conduct a rally of women horse riders on March 8 with the theme ‘Women for Tomorrow.’ This will be one of the first women horse rally in the State.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Rajendra K. V. and District Magistrate will flag off the rally at 5.00 pm in front of the DC office. The rally will end at 6.15 pm at the Mangaluru Horse Riding Academy, Vasanth Vihar, Kadri.
The rally will cover a distance of 6 km and will pass through the DC’s office, Clock tower, Hampankatta, K. S. Rao Road, Kodialbail, PVS Circle, MG Road, Bejai, Circuit house Kadri and conclude at near Kadri Park.
A small cultural programme highlighting the importance of Women has been planned after the rally at MHRA campus. Only female riders from age 6 to 60 years will take part in the rally, stated the press release.
The rally will consist of 20 female riders, 7 horses, one pony cart, one Victoria cart and other riders.
The motto behind the rally is women empowerment, women fitness enthusiasm, tourism enthusiasm and development, equestrian sport development, dignity, respect and justice for women.
